michigan tech

so, i missed the past few days of school to visit michigan tech
which was amazing and a half
i applied to the business school there, but my advisor wants me to branch off into other science/math/engineering type activities since im a math person
i hope financial aid whatnots go through because i really want to go next year
because i dont want to pretend to be a civil engineer at ann arbor for four years

i still have to finish cisco ch.2, IT ess. ch. 2, and my paper for pop culture
in addition to "everything bad is good for you"
which, i have been enjoying since i can make sense out of his thesis
the highlight so far has been an essay written in the form of video games having been invented before reading and thus describes how detrimental reading is to society

also, my hatred of cars and my computer has risen to disgusting levels these days
mainly because betwixt the two im going to be spending 1000$ish

right now my laptop's screen is burned out, the internet card fried and im using my mothers, im using both USB ports for a keyboard and mouse, the battery died and the charger (turned power supply) likes to fall out of its socket so its held in with tape
and the sound sucks, my monitor likes to have seizures on the screen, and my printer refuses to anything but tell me it has an error

im sitting next to jen

well, i was going to write about how awesome ray kurzweil's performance was last night

but i'd rather come up with ideas on why pagnani is not here today

1. he could not get his crack this morning
2. he's parking r.k's car
3. he's playing cat's cradle
4. he really did go to olp last night and it was too intense for him
5. tiny escaped
6. r.k turned him off (meaning pagnani's a robot)
7. we love katamari comes out today
8. something somethign computer something soul
9. he got his nano in the mail

WHY YOU DO ME SO WRONG PAGNANI

i am... A SENIOR and ted leo is amazing

its a new semester....

and i have to nurture this blog for both pop culture AND adv. tech
i dont think cisco though, but i will say that...
osi models are super happy fun and tcp/ip models are sad and emo

i wish i had taken pop culture and literary intensive at the same time because there are about 7 or 8 books that geoff pulled out in class that i would die to read
right now my list includes...

everything bad is good for you, 8 ball chicks (which im going to read before i get back from michigan tech)
technopoloy
hey nostradamus
generation x
all families are psychotic
eleanor rigby

the last four books are all by douglas coupland

ADVANCED TECH
aside from putting up pagnani's cd's on one of his walls
and him wearing a happiness is not a fish shirt by olp

the "can high tech save your life?" article simply highlights a detail in the dissolution of technology into regular life
its a more precise way of doing things, and surely the numbers reinforce this
the technology used can reduce human error, but we still should not rely on it to be perfect
just like we shouldn't rely on medication to solve all of our health problems, but thats another story

typically, dependencies on anything other than yourself aren't something that should be seen as beneficial at all, and technology in medicine surely helps us like the internet
but it doesn't excuse doctors from learning conventional practices
